The Preamble of our State Constitution begins with the proud, but solemn worlds, all in capitals, “WE THE PEOPLE OF POHNPEI”. That declaration is the very foundation of the government of the State of Pohnpei. It is why the Pohnpei Legislature exists, and what we in the Legislature strive to fulfil.

Today, the Pohnpei Legislature is truly a people’s assembly which is committed to upholding democracy and is dedicated to meeting the needs of our people. As your chosen representatives, the elected Senators of the Pohnpei Legislature have the responsibilty of ensuring that all of our people are informed of all aspects of governance within our State that affect you, your family and your community.

This means that the Legislature must be open, transparent and accountable. That is the purpose of this website. Tell your elective representatives about your problems that you face in your community. This is your right. Addressing those questions is our challenge. This is our responsibilty.
